My name is Ian. I host Radio Newark Breakfast, Mondays to Fridays 7 'til 10 (the pros take over at the weekend :-))
I love radio, in particular the magical way it connects with its listeners - and the simplest things are often the most special. Just look at the the joy on this little boy's face when his name is mentioned by my colleague Ady Crampton: Happy birthday Leo. And that's why we love doing your birthday mentions.
As it's a breakfast show, keeping you up to date with the roads and rails is an important part of the brief. There are updates each hour at 20. 35 and 50. And you can feed in if there is something you see and it's safe to let us know. Text 81400, first word Newark. It's a standard cost text. Please add us to your 'phone.
We're also doing something a little different to promote local clubs, charities and non-profit groups. It's free and it's called the Thirty Second Sell.
And there are two ways every day for you to influence the music.
By suggesting a Breakfast Banger - a song best listened to LOUD - we play them just after the 8 o'clock news.
Or choosing your Listener 3,2,1 where you get to pick three songs that make you happy - themed or completely random, we play them in the 9 o'clock hour.
