Appeal for witnesses after ‘mindless vandalism’ of town centre flowers

Flowers were taken out of the planters and thrown on the ground on Bridge Street and Carter Gate overnight on Sunday (2nd August).

A statement from Newark Police said:

“We are appealing for any witnesses to the vandalism of planters on Bridge Street and Carter Gate, Newark which occurred overnight Sunday the 2nd of August.

Residents and businesses were shocked to wake up to the scene this morning. The planters are placed there for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to the Newark Town centre and this mindless vandalism will not be tolerated
