After two weeks at home both Newark Flowserve and Newark Town are on their travels.

The Works make the short journey to improving Rainworth Miners Welfare in another throw back to the heady days of the Notts Alliance when the two sides used to go head to head regularly in front of 500 plus crowds. 3.00pm kick off at Kirklington Road.

It’s the first real test of player commitment for the new look Newark Town as they travel to Rotherham to play Phoenix. Assuming they pass that test this should be the week the manager gets his first three points.

Collingham  have had an excellent start to the year and sit in second place of the CMFL, all that makes this weekend's home match against in form Renishaw Rovers a possible banana skin. 3.00pm at Station Road

Southwell City are back at Bishops Drive for the second consecutive week with a tasty looking local derby against Aslockton. 3.00pm kick off.

Long Bennington under 18's return to league action with a trip to fourth placed West Bridgeford while Newark Town meet Glapwell at Devon Park

The pick of the matches for Newark Hockey Club see’s the Men’s Ones take on Boots at the Magnus with a 3.30pm push back. On Sunday the clubs Mixed team take on Lindum, 12.30 push back also at the Magnus.

Newark Rugby Club should have been having a week off but the pre Christmas postponement at Ashbourne means it’s a trip to Derbyshire instead.

Ed Howlett continues his tour of Europe with another outing for team GB, this time in Provonce.

Newark Swimming Clubs young stars are off to Nottingham for the first weekend of the County Championships while Grantham hosts the Lincolnshire event, watch for Amelia Chrispin as she turns her attention to the pool.

Sunday see’s the first of two back to back matches against the league leaders for RHP Colts. Garry Attwood’s side take on a Grimsby side that boast a 100% win record in the Mid Lincs under 15 top division and with the green & whites themselves yet to taste defeat this could be a cracker. Next Sunday they do it all again in the Cup.

Sunday also see’s Newark Tennis Club in action when their mixed doubles side travel to Grantham.
