Newark Striders weekend of running
Newark Striders ran in excess of 600 miles this weekend, starting off with around 50 completing Parkrun on Saturday. Onto Sunday and there was a good turnout for distance training with many supporting the Newark Half Marathon ‘All Clubs’ run alongside friends from the other local running clubs.
In terms of racing, 4 Striders lined up in Keyworth for the Turkey Trot Half Marathon, rescheduled from December due to poor weather. Finally to Stamford, where 9 Striders took part in the Valentine’s 30K. The course was challenging and hilly, but that didn’t stop Jan Bailey who finished the 18.7 miles in 2:00:17.
