Newark Striders Running Club
A huge well done to the 22 Striders who completed the very warm Bassingham Bash 5 mile road race, a successful run with 13 Striders achieving new PB's .
First Strider to finish was Jan Bailey in a new personal best time of 29:03 coming 9th overall and 2nd in this age category followed by Mark Jackson 31:55, next was Peter Davis 35:35 who also won his age category MV60, and the rest as follows Nick Beveridge 37:21 PB, Graham Welsh 39:05 PB.
Our first lady to finish was the amazing Philippa Clarke in a new personal best time of 39:14 followd by Steven Padgett 41:17 PB David Daubney 42:04 PB, Andy Scott 43: 49, Donna Wright 45:23 PB, Nicki Padgett 47:03 PB, Jacqui Jackson 47:26 PB, Stacey Atkins 49:48 , Donna Beveridge 50:04 PB, Kath Scott 53:11, Holly Davis 53:11, Bernie Divall 55:14 PB, Leisa Pickles 55:35, Lynne Boby 55:35, Anthea Moisey 1:02:47 PB, Paula Nicholls 1:02:51 and Tom Stimson 1:03:01PB. The afternoon was rounded off nicely with a cuppa in our new mugs and flapjack !
On Sunday the competition continued. Three Striders travelled south to take part in the " Run for All " Leicester 10K.
Both gents achieved new 10K PB's with Steven Padgett finishing in a time of 49:36 , Jason Cobb in 52:58 and the lovely Niceeta Padgett in a fab 57:08.
While in the woods eight Striders completed the Sherwood pines 10k trail race.
First to finish was Jan Bailey in a time of 37:15 and coming 3rd overall. Our first lady to finish was Danielle Forsey in a fantastic time of 45:15, followed by Sara Carter 51:21, Dan Arkwell 56:38, Philippa Clarke 56:41, Jason Priest 59:28, Lesley Butlin 1:04:05 and Debbie Martindale in 1:09:42
Striders Tom Marshall and Duncan Barnett completed the Leeds triathlon, Dunan finished the event in 3 hours and 26 , I have no times for Tom but he must of done okay , as he won his age category and came 8th overall !
And finally congratulations to Striders Alison Harland and Anne- Marie Davison who both completed their first triathlon today at Nottingham.
