Our Pocket Rocket is crowned the County Champion
Amelia Chrispin was racing at a frosty but sunny, beautiful Wollaton Park in the Nottinghamshire Schools XC Championships yesterday.
She had pre-qualified in December to represent Worksop College and Bassetlaw District against the rest of the Schools Districts, and around 60 keen athletes turned up for the yr 8 and 9's girls race. Despite wearing Bassetlaw colours, she still managed to sneak her Newark AC vest on underneath!
Amelia had a great start and leading from the start pulled away quite early on, with one other athlete. Despite a late strong sprint challenge, Amelia managed to maintain her position and crossed the line a great 1st place to take this years title.
She will now go on to represent Nottinghamshire in the Junior Girls team, at the English Schools Cross Country Championships in March.
