Radio Newark Sport with our local teams as pre season training gets underway
Following Newark Flowserve’s decision to concentrate on a under twenty-three side to supplement their step five team It will be interesting to see where last season’s reserve team players will pop up, Newark Town, Kirton and Harrowby are all rumoured to be looking at the Notts Senior League Division Two winners.
And it’s the Blues that have made the first move with Arron Martin putting pen to paper. Another player to make the journey from Lowfields to the Sports Village is goalkeeper Nathan Burrows while Lewis Chambers has also signed up to the Damo revolution.
In other Town news Andy Munton is taking up the position of goalkeeping coach.
Newark Flowserve start their pre season training on Tuesday and with the rumour mill in overdrive we could be bringing you some big news next week. But at the moment it’s players leaving that’s making the news with Sean Woolley also moving on as he looks for a new challenge.
The club will have to wait until the Lincs under 23 leagues AGM before they will know if their late application to enter a side into the league is accepted.
In other news;
It looks like Bolsover may have resigned from the East Midlands Counties League, that being the case I assume Ollerton are not impressed, they should be taking their place along side local rivals Rainworth and Clipstone in that league.. The EMCL is now likely to run one club down as it’s past cut off time for moving.
Another team dropping out out of a league is Matlock Reserves and this affects both Newark Town and Collingham as it’s the Central Midlands North, meaning that division will run with 15 teams.
