Successful Tournament
The club hosted it’s second social tournament of the year last weekend to coincide with the re-opening of the grass courts. 14 couples took to the courts to play in a round robin cup tournament and plate tournament. The competition was tough and some excellent tennis was played throughout the day, even on the grass courts which it seems, still require a little more work!
The cup final was played between Tony Gamage/John Jessop and Sara Jackson/James Lalyk, who came away with the cup winning 6-4. The plate tournament saw reigning plate holders Annie Davies/Becky succumbed to Sam Butler/Ewan in a 6-0 defeat. The club had fun activities throughout the day and raised some much needed funds to see the grass court project succeed. Thanks to everyone for playing, contributing and visiting.
