Notfast Running Club
Due to a NOTFAST takeover at Newark Parkrun, there were only 25 members actually running in Parkruns this week, both at Rushcliffe and Newark. At Newark, most of the roles were filled by volunteers from NOTFAST. PBs this week for Camilla Grant and Lynn Hare.
Also taken over this week was the 3rd Nottinghamshire Summer League of 2017. Peter Tatton and NOTFAST stepped in to host the event when it looked as though it may have to be cancelled. This was very successful, and nearly all the club were involved in either marshalling, water stops (very much needed), car parking, or running. A very hot and humid evening, the course went from Flowserve in Newark, out to Cotham village and back again.
On Friday evening, it was the Summer Solstice 10k at Long Bennington, hosted by Grantham running club. This is a well organised event, which has always been well supported by NOTFAST, and again there was a huge turnout of 68 members! Adam Holland was in Prague this weekend for a stag do, and managed to find an event to take part in while there. This was called Divoka Sarka (Prague Park Race), a 14k multi-terrain course and very hilly, but beautiful scenery. With a 7.5 mile warm up to get to the event, Adam came in 5th overall with a time of 1:00:32.
Finally, Steve Needham and Sue Needham were at the Race to the King Ultra-Marathon this weekend. This goes from Arundel to Winchester across the South Downs Way.
