Paris and Parkruns

There we 31 club members at Parkruns this week, in Paris, Exmouth, Clumber Park, Long Eaton, Lincoln and Newark, with Nikki Dales, Rachel Sheldrake and Annette Taylor all achieving PBs this week.

Over the Easter weekend, Caroline Upton completed the inaugural Devon coast-to-coast ultra-trail run, 117 miles from Wembury on the south coast to Lynmouth on the north coast. Starting on the morning of Easter Saturday, and finishing in the dark on Easter Sunday, Caroline completed the course in 38 hours.

Damian Davis and Kira Green were at the Belvoir Half on Sunday. Damian was dodging tractors, but managed to finish in 1:23:27 (and 22nd place), and Kirafinished in a new PB of 2:45:48, despite recently overcoming injury.

Steven White was at the very hilly Sheffield Half marathon on Sunday, completing the course in 1:52:39.

Jeremy Reichelt was at the Friskney Half Marathon, near Boston. A flat course, and Jeremy came 23rd (3rd in age), in a time of 1:52:02.

Rachel Sheldrake completed the “Exe to Axe” fell race in Devon. With 4000ft of ascent over 22 miles, Rachel finished in 5:37.

John Miller was in France for the Paris Marathon on Sunday, finishing in a respectable time of 5:57:51

Finally, Adrian Dix was at the Manchester Marathon on Sunday. Despite suffering with cramp in the latter stages, he finished in a new PB of 3:13:40.
