Grove Squash Club

In division 1 of the Lincoln League 3 wins in the last 3 matches saw the team finish runners up to Gainsborough. The victories came away at David Lloyd 4-1 with wins for Wayne Hiatt, Steve Brown, and Craig & Paul Drury, 3-2 at home to Ruston "G", Paul Burrell, Craig Drury and Barrie Saye winning their respective games and was capped off with a 5-0 away win at Ruston "C" with Paul Allen, Paul Burrell, Craig Drury, Barrie Saye and Jamie Growden securing the points to bring the curtain down on the season in fine style. The club are waiting to hear if they will be promoted to the premier division next season.

On the domestic front the club held their Winter Handicap finals and in the main Competition first team captain Chris Gibbons saw off a spirited effort from new comer Joe Cook 3-1 and in the plate competition 2nd teamer Paul Burrell put in a masterful performance in beating 1st team member Richard Speed 3-0.

That marks  the end of the first year at their new courts. Both adult and junior memberships are on the increase, club nights are proving hugely and the club has high hopes for next season.
