Just another weekend in the world of Newark Striders
Well done to the three Striders who completed the hilly, muddy and tough Caythorpe 10K. First to finish for Striders was Graham Welsh in a time of 52:14, followed by Donna Beveridge in 1:11:09 and Anthea Moisey running her first official 10K in a time 1:12:39 PB.
Whilst in Nottingham three Striders took on the EMA 10K and did brilliantly. Philippa Clarke lead the way in a time of 48:52 with Stacey Atkins 54:28 and Jenny Palmer 1:01:46 PB.
Well done to all the Striders who participated in Notts cross county winter league at Holme Pierrepont. Everyone seemed to enjoy it even though it was muddy, hilly and a little tough. Striders did extremely well considering it was our first go at this event and we are currently 5th out of 12 teams in the men's vets 'A' teams and 4th out of 6 in the men's 'B' teams.
Results are as follows, the men complete a distance of 5 mile and the ladies 2.5 miles
Lewis Hopkinson 33:27, Dan Stephen 37:28, Mark Winter 37:43, Clive Owen 43:07, Simon Irke 44:00, Leroy Lindsay 44:58 , Dave Dews 45:56 , Dan Arkwell 47:27 , the ladies complete a shorter distance Nicola Bradley 23:14 and Elizabeth Slessor 24:36.
