A holiday in Cornwall
Back to last Tuesday and three Newark Striders took part in the third of four races in the Lincoln Wellington AC 5K series. Dave Dews was first home for the club in 20:05, Peter Davis, 2nd V60 in 22:53 and Stephen Tomlinson 23:47.
It was a quiet weekend for results, but we shall start on Friday night with David Cross who completed the Castle rock 10k in a great time of 45:35.
Saturday was Parkrun and as usual plenty of us were running or volunteering. In addition to Newark, we were at the Eden Project, Market Rasen, Llyn Llech Owain, Sherwood Pines, Whinlatter Forest and Hasenheide Berlin.
Whilst in Cornwall, three brave Striders completed the Indian Queens half marathon near Newquay. It's apparently the flattest half in Cornwall but all things are relative. First to finish was Simon Palmer in 2:06:06 followed by Anthea Moisey 2:41:45 and Jenny Palmer 2:41:46.
Well done to all who ran this weekend, and to Jason Cobb and Michelle Starbuck who completed the Bassetlaw triathlon.
