Can he do it!
Saxon Shore Marathon (Saxons, Vikings & Normans 10 marathons in 10 days) day 8 and in for a shocker!! 😂 first off I just want to say thank you to the people that have donated on my just giving! Ankle still hurting a little but just keep running 😊 i'm expecting fast one-day people over the weekend but not today which I find out. Got to half way in about 1:22:00 and then I had Ben pass me. At this point I was happy just to watch him slowly pull away. Got about a minute ahead of me for quite awhile and I had it in my head that I was happy for him to take 1st place today. So when I got to 22/23miles it felt like I was slowing up. Then like a switch this pace came out of nowhere within. I could see Ben getting closer and closer with less than a mile to go I got right in behind him and he had no idea I was there. With about 200m to go I put on a sprint to finish just 12 seconds ahead of Ben. (Picture can see I'm very happy) I was so happy as I had made quite a comeback. Looking at my info last mile was 5min 39sec (mad I know)
Sssooo 1st back in a shocking time of 2:43:56sec.
Thank you Ben for the races!! Just hoping my ankle will hold out for the last 2 marathons. Odd to think I have done 8 marathons in less 24 hours. Went back out onto the course to cheer some others on today. For a lot of people it's their 1st marathon, 1st 3in3 or 5in5 or even 10in10. Lots of amazing people!!
